Bryce Edward Hanes

Bryce Edward Hanes, 39, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 while on duty as a San Bernardino police officer. Bryce is survived by his wife of 16 years, Alice, and his children Abby, Katy and Ben, his father, Jerry, sisters Tracey and Regan and his brother Scott. He was preceded in death by his mother Karan. Bryce was born November 17, 1975 in Redlands to Karan and Jerry Hanes. Bryce graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1993, and served a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He received an Associates Degree from Valley College. Bryce and Alice were married for eternity in the San Diego, California LDS temple. He has been a police officer with the city of San Bernardino for 12 years, and a Sunday school teacher for 8 and 9 year-olds at his church. Bryce loved his family, faith, and serving the community as a police officer. He was loved and respected by many. We will remember and celebrate his life and legacy. Services for family and friends will be held Thursday, November 12 at 10:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 1761 5th Avenue, Redlands, California 92374. A Public service will be held Thursday, 12:30pm at the National Orange Show, 689 South E Street, San Bernardino, California 92504. Visitation will take place Wednesday, November 11, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Avenue, Redlands, California 92373. (909) 793-2311.
