Henry “Hankie” Gonzales born May 22nd, 1939 passed away peacefully at home on October 28th, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Josephine. Daughters: Margaret Rojas (David), Tonie Miranda (Victor), Diana Proctor (Paul) and son Mark Gonzales (Arthur). Siblings: David Gonzales (Diane), Armida Cabral (Gilbert) and Rachel Delgado. In-Laws: Eleanor Samano (Henry), Juanita Kelly, Manuel Kelly (Marie) and Louis Kelly (Jackie). He has 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson on the way and a host of nieces, nephews and godchildren. Hankie was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Margaret Gonzales, father and mother in-law Winslow and Antonia Kelly. Siblings: Anna Mae Albarron (Steve), Mary Louise “Pinkie” Reyna, Alfred Gonzales and Larry Gonzales (Mary). Brother in-laws: Alvan Kelly, Jerry Kelly and Johnny Delgado Sr. Hankie graduated from Redlands High School in 1957 and served during the Cuban Crisis in the 2nd infantry Army from 1957-1962. He attended Valley College, worked for Bob Crim and eventually retired from Redlands Unified School District in 2000. Hankie is a member of the Pala Band of Luiseno Mission Indians. He will be remembered as a kind soul who gave deeply from his heart to everyone and anyone who was family or friend. Services will be Friday, November 3rd at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 11:00 am . Internment to follow at Hillside Cemetery in Redlands. The family would like to thank Carmen Brown, RN from Bright Sky Hospice Care for her dedication of care to our Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Friend and Husband.
