Mr. Gibson was born August 21, 1935 in Newton County, Mississippi to Selma and Amy Green Gibson.
Mr. Gibson served for 4 years in the United State Army, during the Korean War and earned the status of Sargent. The army benefited from his exceptional culinary skills, which he learned from his mother, Amy. Shortly after he completed his tour of duty in the army, he and his first wife moved to Los Angeles, California and had four children Gwendolyn M Gibson, Jacquelyn M. Gibson, John Ernest Gibson, Jr and Anthony Dale Gibson.
In 1979, he met Jacqueline Bryant on the job at Augustus F. Hawkins. Jacqueline Bryant had a son name Earl Gregory Cox. They were married and to this union was born LaJontae Gibson. He & his wife Jacqueline Gibson decided to settle in rialto ca in 1999. Mr. Gibson then joined his Church St. Paul AME. Mr. Gibson went on to lead a fabulous career as a occupational therapist he was also an exceptional hairstylist. He worked as a occupational therapist for 25 years and later retire in 2006. Mr. Gibson was an exceptional man he always put his family first.
The last week of his life he testified to Taye , his confidante, "I've surrendered, Ive waved the white flag and I know that God is the boss"
He closed his eyes on Sunday, December 06, 2020 and made his eternal transition into a restful peace with God.
John leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Jacquelyn Gibson, his children Gwendolyn Gibson Jackie Gibson (Stephen Stringer), Anthony Gibons (Randa Gibson) LaJontae Gibson(Muriel Gibson) Earl Cox his 7 grandchildren Alexis Gibson Latrice Mccallon ,Deishanna Reyes, Jocelyn Gibson, Faith Gibson Marquez Gibson and Kiara Gibson,& his two great grandchildren Kalaya Kamara & Brooklyn Green and a host of cousins and family.
He is preceded in death by son John Ernest Gibson Jr.
