Albert Cecil Clegg Albert C. Clegg, 89, of Redlands, CA, passed away August 17, 2012, at home surrounded by his family. Albert was born January 11, 1923, in Martinsburg West Virginia, the oldest of 10 children. Albert served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, including the Battle of the Bulge. He met Polish National Janina Cudek while serving in Germany and they married May 14, 1946. On returning stateside in Washington D.C. with their infant son after discharge, he worked as a carpenter while he and Janina started expanding their family. They moved across the U.S. to California, settling in Los Angeles in 1955 where their family grew to 6 children. They finally settled and raised their children in La Puente, where he worked as a General Contractor. Albert retired in 1989 to Hemet, CA, with Janina and moved to Redlands, CA, after her death in 1996. Albert is survived by his son George Clegg of Layton, UT, and his wife Kathy; son William Clegg of Hesperia, CA, and his wife Dorothea; son Albert Clegg of Monrovia, CA, and his wife Julia; son John Clegg of Baldwin Park, CA; daughter Mary of Redlands, CA and her husband Bruce Robison; two brothers, James Triplett of California and Charles Triplett of Maryland; one sister, Marie Newcomb of North Carolina; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Albert was preceded in death by his beloved wife Janina, his daughter Ellen, two brothers and four sisters. Services will be Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel - 703 Brookside Ave., in Redlands, CA. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. with viewing at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA, at 1:00 p.m.
