Alicia M. Carreto

Alicia M. Carreto, age 72, of Yucaipa, went to be with the Lord on July 30, 2012. She was born February 5th, 1940 in Penitas, Nayarit, Mexico to Eduviges and Eva Mercado. She is preceded in death by her husband, Librado M. Carreto, who passed away on December 24th, 2000 and son, Sammy Carreto. She was the beloved mother of five daughters: Ida Hernandez, Barbara (Johnny) Moreno, Linda Hernandez, Cuca Hojos, Norma (Steve) Romo; 18 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; five sisters: Rosie, Helen, Espie, Delia, & Amelia; 6 brothers: Joe, Milo, Guillermo, Hector, Johnny & Daniel. Alicia s life s work was her family. They always came first and they were her heart s desire. One of her many passions was gardening. She faithfully tended the garden at her home. Her hobby s included sewing, making earrings and she loved to paint. She loved to collect photos, true story movies, and has a wide range of Elvis Presley memorabilia. Alicia had an ear for all different types of music, from the big bands to mariachi music and cumbias, American music from the 40 s to current. Her favorite type of music was Worship music. When you walked into her home there was not one room that did not displayed pictures of her entire family. Until the very end of her life, she was a graceful, generous person with a positive spirit. She will be remembered for her nurturing manner and her devotion to her family. Funeral Services will held on Saturday, August 4th, 2012 at 10:00am at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, Yucaipa, CA with burial to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Calimesa, CA.
