Angelina Sumaya Cosme (January 29, 1929 August 16, 2013)
Angelina Cosme, born and raised in Redlands, passed away at the age of 84 on August 16, 2013, at Redlands Community Hospital. Angelina was preceded in death by her husband, Osvaldo R. Cosme. Angelina was the daughter and the eldest child of Ramon MaCleish Sumaya and Norberta Roque Sumaya.
Angelina was a graduate of Redlands Senior High School, class of 1948, a waitress for many years at Oscar's Mexican Restaurant in Redlands, and a member of American Legion Post 650 Auxiliary. Angelina attended Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, formally Sacred Heart, and was fond of attending the Redlands Summer Bowl Concerts, looking through yard sales, and an avid reader.
Angelina was a devoted mother and grandmother and is survived by three sons, Norman Cosme of Redlands, Osvaldo Cosme of Rancho Cucamonga, and Mario Cosme of Palmdale; brothers Raymond Sumaya and Salvador Sumaya, sisters Belen Suarez and Ana Sumaya, all of Redlands; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
Visitation is Monday, August 26th, from 5pm-6pm followed by rosary from 6pm to 7pm at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Ave. Redlands. Funeral Mass will be 10:30am Tuesday, August 27th, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 115 W. Olive St. in Redlands, followed by graveside burial at Hillside Cemetery. A reception will be held after the burial at the American Legion Post 650, 1532 N. Church St., Redlands, at 12:30pm.
