Anna Bertha Villarreal Granillo
December 29, 1950 - August 28, 2022
The family of Anna Bertha Villarreal Granillo announces with immense sorrow of her passing on the morning of Sunday, August 28, 2022. Anna bravely finished her battle with chronic illness and was welcomed into the glory of our Heavenly Father, surrounded by her family. Anna was a strong, courageous, and loving woman whose presence will forever be missed by all who loved her and those who were blessed to know her. Anna is survived by her loving husband, Alfonso V. Granillo Jr. of 56 years, her three children: Edward (Eddie), Richard (Ricky) and Ann Marie (Marie), two daughter-in-laws, seven grandchildren, three honorary grandsons, two great-grandchildren, three sisters, and a brother, as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom she deeply cherished and loved with all her heart. Anna was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico on December 29, 1950 and was a long time resident of Redlands, CA
Anna was known for being a remarkably generous person with both a loving and compassionate heart. She always had an open door for her family members and friends in need. Unselfishly ready at a moments notice, Anna was always willing to prepare and cook-up an amazing home-cooked meal that could rival that of any Micheline Star restaurant.
A woman of enormous faith, Anna lived each day unconditionally and unselfishly by continually placing attention to the care of all those around her first, before herself. She tirelessly volunteered her time to a number of organizations dedicated to helping those in need, such as, cooking meals for the homeless, preparing care packages, financial donations as well as participating in a number of community support groups such as AA programs, women shelters and youth programs. Even in declining health, Anna remained a proud and active member in her grandchildren’s sport and education programs and worked effortlessly by volunteering within those organizations as well.
Anna loved and excelled in all roles from work, volunteering and as a lifelong homemaker. In her profession, Anna worked for many years as an accountant and tax auditor for the Internal Revenue Service. She was an exceptionally loving, compassionate and tireless lady whose home was always the center of endless family gatherings.
Her love of plants and flowers led her to be a self-taught expert as a botanist and horticulturalist. She was able to grow amazing gardens which produced an impressive array of beautiful roses and flowers of many colors and varieties, not forgetting her many fruits and vegetables, including her famous avacado trees and countless other exotic plants.
Anna will forever be loved and missed by all her family and those gracious enough to have known or met her.
