Anna M. Derda

Anna Marietta Derda passed away at 96 years of age at her home in Highland, CA on March 20, 2022.

She was born on July 26, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois. She met her husband Robert Frank Derda when she was working for the telephone company in Chicago. They married in 1946 after Robert returned from serving overseas in the Army Air Corp.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband Robert, mother Vitantonia Donatella Pecorelli and father Nicola Pecorelli, who was born in Italy, sisters Donata Hunt, Theresa Suarez and brother Michael Pecorelli.

She is survived by her sister Rosemarie Holmes, sons Daniel Derda of Casper, Wyoming, Roger Derda and his wife Denise of Huntsville, Texas, and daughter Susan Moritz and her husband David of La Place, Louisiana, granddaughters Kiri and Christen, grandson Jimmy, four great-grandchildren and nephew David Derda of Illinois.

Anna had a great love for her children and looked forward to seeing and talking with them anytime she could; it was the highlight of her life. She was sure to pray each morning and read her Bible on a daily basis. She enjoyed her home and working in the yard. She looked forward to going to the senior center and socializing with her friends; dancing, singing, watching movies, just about anything the senior center had to offer. Fond memories of her will live-on.
