Born in Easton, Pennsylvania to Roy and Frances Young. The Youngs, with daughter Barbara and son Michael, relocated to Redlands California in 1964. There, Barbara met and married Marine Corps and Vietnam Veteran, Kenneth E. Farley in October 1972. They had one child, Kasie Lynn Farley in September 1976. The couple was married for 30 years before the passing of her husband. The Farley’s lived most of their life in Redlands, CA spending time with family and enjoying summers at the Colorado River.
Barbara, known to everyone as Bobi or Nanna, was known for her huge heart and desire to give to others. She was happiest giving little things to those that meant the most to her. Bobi had so many “adopted” kids and grandkids, giving her love to so many. Bobi, like her mother, was a talented woman. Her hobbies included flower arranging, toll painting, cake decorating and computer games, among the few. She was an animal lover, wanting to adopt every animal she saw; often joking she wanted to take the animals home from SeaWorld, “We can keep them in the bathtub!”
Bobi spent most of her adult life caring for others and giving all of herself to them. Bobi graduated from Redlands High school and Cosmetology school in 1969. She continued hair dressing until 1980 when she opted to stay home with her young daughter. Shortly thereafter, Bobi began day care for other children in her home. She took care of numerous children over the years. Later, she spent her life dedicated to caring for her aging parents. She lost her father in 1999 to complications of Alzheimer’s’ disease and then her mother to the same debilitating disease in July 2017.
The remaining months of her life were spent with her daughter and daughters’ boyfriend, in their new home in North San Bernardino.
Bobi is survived by her daughter, Kasie and brother, Michael. She will be missed by all that knew her. A graveside service will be held as follows:
