BARBARA E. FIGUEREDO February 5, 1924 - May 17, 2009 A long time Yucaipa resident passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009, at Braswells Hampton Manor in Yucaipa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Figueredo. Barbara is survived by her sisters, Susan Duncan of Yucaipa and Evelyn Moore of San Diego; sons, Mike (Kim) Figueredo and Steve (Virginia) Figueredo of Yucaipa; Grandchildren, Tiffani, Erika and Ellery; and Great Grandchildren, Madalynn and Joseph. Born in Redlands, CA she moved to Yucaipa in 1927 and spent her early years in the home her Grandparents homesteaded in the late 1800's, which is now part of the J P Ranch development in Calimesa. Barbara worked at the Veterans Hospital in Loma Linda until she retired in 2004, at age 81, after which she volunteered two days a week until November of last year. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, and a caring friend. Quick to laugh and always had a smile. Services will be held at St. Francis X Cabrini Church in Yucaipa, Tuesday, May 26, at 11:00 A.M. Followed by a celebration of her life at the Yucaipa Elks Lodge immediately after.
