Barbara Fay Barker Arnett

Barbara Fay Barker Arnett 86, died December 21, 2010 of natural causes at her home. Born December 29, 1923 in Wilmar, California, Barbara was a resident of Yucaipa for 85 years. She graduated from Redlands High School in 1941 where she was very active in sports and school functions. She married Marion Arnett on September 28, 1941 and they raised three children. Barbara was active in Scouts, Little League and the PTA. She was President of the American Legion Auxiliary in Yucaipa and was a member of the Foursquare Church for 50 years. She was a clerk for the Postal Service for ten years. Barbara and Marion had their own airplane and flew for Lega Flying Doctors of Mercy making trips to Mexico for many years. Barbara is survived by her husband of 69 years, Marion Arnett of Yucaipa, California; son Steve Arnett and wife Sharon of Deming, New Mexico, daughter Linda Elliott and husband Gary of Dallas, Texas; son Ken Arnett of Yucaipa, California; and Sister Louisa McEwen of Hesperia, California. Six grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. Sisters in law, Rosalie Kemp of Ojai, California; Mary Grimes and Doris Broadbent of Yucaipa, California. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at 3:00 pm for the family. Following the family vistation there will be a visitation for the general public from 5:00 8:00 and on Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 8:30 - 11:00 am at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel on Yucaipa Blvd. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday December 30, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Yucaipa at 11:00 am with graveside service to follow at Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Redlands, with return to the First Baptist Church for a reception. In lieu of flowers, the family requests the donations be made to Redlands Community Hospital Hospice. Family under the care of Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, Yucaipa, CA.
