Barbara June Fowler

Barbara June Fowler, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014 in Redlands, at the age of 90. Barbara was born and raised in San Francisco. Following her graduation from Los Angeles High School, Barbara worked for the Los Angeles Board of Education. Barbara married Charles L. Fowler, Jr. on September 12, 1943 in Macon, Georgia. They raised their family in California and Georgia, moving to Redlands in October 1961. Barbara was an active volunteer for the Boy Scouts and PTA while raising her family. Barbara's work included the creation of s school library at Crafton Elementary School. Barbara is loved and will be missed by her children, Gary and Janet Fowler of Annapolis, Maryland, Larry and Judi Fowler of Gig Harbor, Washington, Sandy and Laurens Thurman of Redlands, Becky and John Shaw of Bakersfield, CA, Ruth and Larry Rice of Yucaipa, Glen and Heather Fowler of Redlands, and Donna Goetz of Kirkland, Washington; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and her sister, Dotty Botts of Folsom, CA. A graveside service will take place at Riverside National Cemetery on Tuesday, September 23, at 11:01am
