Betty Jo Shaffer-Laumer-Cockrum

Betty J. Lay - Shaffer - Laumer - Cockrum, 83 was born in Tulsa, Ok. on 6-24-29 to Audy and Edna Lay, went to be with the Lord on 6-30-2012 in Redlands, Ca. She was preceded in death by husband Erwin "Curly" Laumer, brothers James Lay and Bobby Lay, son Roger Shaffer and daughter Sandra Gronek. She is survived husband Dale Cockrum of Yucaipa, sons Larry and Debbie Shaffer of Calimesa, Richard Shaffer of Redding, Lyle Shaffer of Cabazon, sister Wanda Carl of Georgia and Tommy Lay of Idaho. She was a graduate of Beaumont H.S. class of 1947. Worked many years at Baseline Laundry and then for Richmond Paper Co. Was a member of F.O.O. Moose & F.O.O. Eagles, Judson Babtist Church and Yucaipa First Babtist Church. Awarded the first Honorary Life Membership to Cole Ave. Elementary School P.T.A. in Highland, Ca. Served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. She had 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She will be laid to rest at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Calimesa on July 6th, 2012. Viewing 10:00, service at 11:00.
