Betty M Simon, 92, of Redlands, passed away Friday, October 12, in Redlands. Betty was born March 8, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois, to Cecil and Olga (Urst) Lykkegaard. Betty married Richard Simon on May 22, 1953. Betty came to Redlands in 1979.
Betty was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Services will be held at the LDS Chapel located at 640 S. Center St., Redlands with a viewing at 10:00 a.m. and memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2018.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Simon, daughter, Susan Jensen, and grandchildren Denette Bommarito and Tristan Jensen.
Betty was a school teacher for many years with Los Angeles Unified School District and continued to substitute teach at various high schools in Redlands throughout her retirement. She was an avid gardener and a talented artist. Her greatest joy was her family and the time she spent with them.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Phyllis) Simon of Edgewater, Florida, Sally (Blair) Bell of Redlands, and Mark (Robin) Simon of Moreno Valley, her grandchildren, Dena (Eloy) Minjares of Minot, North Dakota, Michael (Traci) Simon of Minot, North Dakota, Eric (Jennifer) Simon of Riverside, Matthew and Brandon Reiter of Redlands, Jessica German of Moreno Valley, and David (Alicia) German of Oceanside, and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Marcus, and Zackary Simon of Minot, North Dakota , Anthony and Nicholas Minjares of Minot, North Dakota, Christian and Charlotte Cuellar of Riverside, Logan Reiter of Redlands, and Julian German of Oceanside.
