B.L. “Monty” Tremain was born in Mauston, Wisconsin on October 5, 1938. After graduating from High School, he joined the United States Air Force at the age of 17 which blossomed into a 20 year career in which he served as an aircraft mechanic and flight engineer. He flew supply missions in the Vietnam War and before the end of his career had visited every continent on the globe, a fact he was very proud of. He finished his USAF career working in Logistics at March Air Force Base. He moved to Redlands in 1980 and fell in love with the community, joining Redlands Evening Kiwanis and the Redlands Elks Lodge where he served the community for the next 42 years. He was well-known as a bartender at the Redlands Elks Lodge and his presence and humor behind the bar were loved by all.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Laura Tremain as well as his five children Cheryl, Kris, David, Lisa and Brian, and numerous grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Redlands Elks Lodge Veteran’s Committee.
