Bonnie McCririe Mccuistion
Sept. 21, 1925 - Jan. 20, 2016
Born in Pollard, Arkansas, Bonnie grew up on a rustic farm typical of the day: mule, buckboard and no running water. During the Great Depression, the family moved between Detroit and Arkansas numerous times as many families did in that era. During WWII Bonnie married James McCririe and together they settled in California, raising a family of four daughters in San Bernardino and Redlands: Heather, Laurel, Holly and Bonnie Belle. They joined the LDS church in 1969. Years later, after Jim's death, Bonnie married longtime family friend, David McCuistion. They enjoyed 20 years together.
Fiercely proud of her Scottish heritage, Bonnie lovingly tended the family collection of Scottish heirlooms. She kept a beautiful home, loved to cook and host family gatherings, and gave rich meaning to the term "homemaker." Bonnie's devotion to her church life was evident over the years; she held many callings in the LDS church including serving as Relief Society President. Bonnie loved her family, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved doing calligraphy, tennis, the color blue, gardenias, dogs, and station wagons. Services will be held at the LDS Stake Center in Redlands on Tuesday, January 26 at 11:00am (Visitation at 10:00am in the Relief Society room). Bonnie will be intered in Hillside Cemetary following the service.
