Catalina Banales Katie Cabral

Catalina (Katie) B. Cabral, 73, of Redlands, entered into rest on October 24, 2013 in her home surrounded by loved ones. Katie was born in Del Rosa, California on December 17, 1939. She was married to Henry H. Cabral for 54 years. She worked as a house keeping supervisor at Redlands Community Hospital for 25 years. She enjoyed gardening and watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Katie was a beautiful lady that will be remembered for many qualities. She was hard working and ambitious, holding down a full time job and managing a household of ten. She was always there to help when she was needed. She had a smile that could brighten a room and a laughter that was contagious. When she was only eight years old, she lost her own mother and found herself stepping into that role to help care for her two younger sisters. She was a survivor that taught her children that given the right attitude, you could accomplish anything that you set your mind to and she was a good example of that motto. She didn t have a lot of education yet she managed to work her way from making beds to supervising a large crew, an accomplishment for which she didn t give herself enough credit. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Henry; her sisters, Virginia and Maggie; eight children; Cipriano, Rosie, Amador, Lupe, Ricky, Jennie, Peter and Linda; 19 grandkids and 18 great-grandkids. Visitation will be at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Ave., Redlands on Wednesday from 4pm 8pm. Mass will be Thursday at 10am at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church (St. Mary s) on Columbia Street in Redlands. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park, Redlands, CA
