Connie L. Chadwick Connie was born in Hebron, Nebraska, to Oscar E. and Wanda J. Verley. She was the oldest of five children. Loriene, Beverley, Gilbert, and Linda Gail completed their family. During the depression her family moved to California, settling in Redlands where Connie graduated from high school in 1950. She met her future husband, A.C. Bill Chadwick, while working at Western Printers and they were married on June 20th, 1952. In the following years they had four children, Douglas Chisholm, Arch Cape, Oregon; Craig William, Aumsville, Oregon; Elizabeth Ann (Goude), and Scott Verley, Yucaipa, California. Connie was a homemaker , caring for her children, helping out in their school life as room-mother, and gardening at home as well as helping her husband with bookkeeping at the printing business that he now owned. She was called on many times to make wedding and birthday cakes for family and friends, a craft she loved. Bill retired their California printing business in April of 1984 and he and Connie moved to Aumsville, Oregon. Connie s working career in Oregon started with being a Temporary Employee in Financial Services at the Oregon Department of Transportation through Kelley Services. She went on to work for Westaff Services in 1985, (then Western Temporary Services) as a Staffing coordinator and payroll supervisor. She wan involved in the First Citizens Banquet, Salem Holiday Parade and Secretary s Day projects. When Bill passed away on March 15th, 1998, Connie moved to Northeast Salem. She was active in community service through volunteer work with the Salem Chamber of Commerce, the Salem Convention and Visitors Bureau, and for the Aumsville Corn Festival, where she was honored by being named Grand Marshal. Connie passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, Janaury 23, 2011, with family and friends around her. She is survived by children, Chad and Lianne, Craig and his wife Virginia, Elizabeth and husband David, Scott and wife Cindi; grandchildren, Kevin and Dustin, Gina, Jenny and Aaron, Alex, Michael and Nathan, and Cameron; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Connor, Hunter; siblings, Loriene, Beverly, and Gilbert; and many treasured friends. Services where held Friday, January 28, 2011 at 11 A.M. at Barrick Funeral Home, 205 Church Street SE, Salem, Oregon. Graveside services where held at Montecito Memorial Park, Colton, California on Tuesday, February 1, 2011.
