Danny Allan Edward Moran was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on August 26, 1946. Dan passed away on July 9, 2024. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 52 years, Joy Ann Moran, whom preceded him in death on July 30, 2021. He was a loving father to his children Jim Moran, Jeff Moran, and Carrie Loveland (nee’ Moran) and a beloved Papa to 8 grandchildren. He also had a granddaughter, Caitlin Rose that preceded him in death.
Dan was one of three children of Allan Edward Isaac Moran and Lillian Cora Moran (nee’ Redman). His siblings include Lynn Gorospe (nee’ Moran) and Gary Moran.
Dan graduated from Hueneme High School in 1965 and earned his A.A. degree at Glendale Jr. College in 1973.
Dan was in the U.S. Army from 1967-1970. During this time he was a supply specialist. He was commended for achieving the rank of sergeant within 15 months.
After the military, Dan was an outside salesman in the hardware industry, working for companies including California Hardware and LAAGCO Sales. He also enjoyed working Saturdays at his father-in-law’s store, Garvanza Hardware. Dan finished his career at Norco ACE Hardware.
Dan was an avid sports fan, especially baseball. He was a lifelong fan of the Dodgers. Dan and Joy met on a blind date to a Dodger’s game and married 6 months later in 1969.
Dan and Joy lived in Hawaii as newlyweds. They also lived in Redlands, California for about 44 years where they made numerous special memories with family and friends as they raised their 3 children.
Dan’s Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date. Dan will always be remembered for his love of writing (poems and songs) and his sense of humor. Dan will be remembered most for his loyalty and dedication to his family through the years.
