Dolores “Dee” Kilinski Harrigal was born in Detroit, Mich., on May 11, 1929 to John and Stella Kilinski. She attended Catholic schools throughout her education.
After graduating from high school, she worked in the automobile industry until moving to California in 1951.
There, she met her future husband, George Harrigal. The couple married in Tempe, Ariz., in 1953 and moved to Ridgecrest, CA., where Mrs. Harrigal began working at the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, in the records office, rising to be the office director.
In 1978, the couple moved to Redlands, where Mr. Harrigal died in 1996. Mrs. Harrigal continued to live in Redlands the rest of her life.
She was active in her church, Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community, in Redlands. She taught catechism education, both to children and to the adults who taught the children.
She also volunteered driving elderly parishioners to medical appointments and other chores, until her health made it impossible for her to continue.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, her parents John and Stella, her sister Mary DeMeyer and her brother Harry Kilinski. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Porizky, and a grandson, Joshua Porizky, both of Massachusetts.
She died at home on April 9, 2024, a month shy of her 95th birthday. A mass and memorial are planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 115 Olive Ave., Redlands, followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery.
