Donald Edwin Mitchell

Donald (Don) Edwin Mitchell returned to his heavenly home on September 21, 2019 after a battle with cancer. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Don was born in Altadena, CA on June 15, 1938. He and his family moved to Yucaipa in 1943. As a young man Don was a farmer. He raised cows, chickens and hogs. He loved farming. Don also served in the United States Army. He married his childhood sweetheart Suzanne Raine on November 8,1958 in Yucaipa, CA. Don helped raise his four children. From the very beginning, he dedicated his children and his family to God.
Don worked in the Aviation Industry with the Rohr Corporation, and Lockheed Martin. Don was kind and outgoing. He loved visiting with his friends before church each Sunday morning. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
Don is survived by his wife of 60 years, 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Don will be buried at Riverside National Cemetery.
