Redlands

Dorothy Ann Hodson was born on September 24, 1942, in Long Beach, CA, and moved to Redlands in 1944. She attended Sacred Heart School, Redlands Junior High, and graduated from Redlands High School in 1960. She then went on to attend San Bernardino Valley College.

Over the years, she held many jobs, including keeping the books for the family business, Farmer Orchard Company, and operating a seamstress business from her home. She also volunteered with many local organizations, including United Way, Redlands Day Nursery, and led a Girl Scout troop at McKinley Elementary School. In more recent years, she was involved with Smiley Heritage Tours under the AK Smiley Public Library, where she wrote tours of Redlands for adults called "Hidden Treasures" and also wrote and gave tours to 4th graders in Redlands. Additionally, she worked on bringing the Museum of Redlands to fruition. She was a member of Andiamo since 1963.

She enjoyed traveling and had a wide variety of interests and hobbies. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.

Predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Tim Farmer, she is survived by her children, Amy Allsup (Mike), Wynee Orland (Dave), and Mandy McIntyre (Marc); her grandchildren, Maxwell Newton, Tanner Orland (Alie), Madeline McIntyre, Trent Allsup, Kaley Orland Murray (Sean), Tori McIntyre, Olivia McIntyre, and Wade Allsup (Maria); as well as great-grandchildren, Delaney Orland and Callum Allsup.

Burial services will be private, with a party to celebrate Dodie to follow.
