Dwight Eugene Merchant

Dwight Eugene Merchant May 30, 1921- June 16, 2011 Dwight Merchant 90 years old passed away, after a lengthy illness. He had been a resident of Yucaipa, CA since 1976. He was superintendent of his large church, where they taught Sunday school. Born on a farm in Logan, Iowa. His parents where Merle and Mary Merchant, deceased. Dwight served in W.W. II, becoming a General serving for two years. Dwight returned to farming for ten years, then moving to San Bernardino, CA in 1956, working as a surveyor for Cambell and Miller. Dad and Mother Bernice Pettit (deceased 1993) were married 51 years. Survived by his loving and devoted friend Louise La Borde of Yucaipa. Our beloved father is survived by his three children, daughter Judy Easley of Yucaipa, daughter Linda Weddell of San Bernardino, son Jerry Merchant of San Bernardino. Four grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. A viewing will be held in the Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 11251 Desert Lawn Drive Calimesa, CA. Funeral Services will be held following the viewing, officiated by Larry Hebron. Refreshments after the funeral service, celebrating Dwight s life, will follow at Desert Lawn. He will be greatly missed! Emmerson Bartlett assisted the family with service.
