Ellie Mitchell of Redlands, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2018 at Plymouth Village. She was born August 10, 1921, the daughter of William and Eva Boon of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Raised in Pennsylvania, she met and married her late Lt. Col. Ralph B. Mitchell in 1941. Together with her husband, who was an Air Force officer, they lived in Japan, England and ten different states. When it was time to retire, they decided that Redlands was the best place of all and lived there for over 50 years. Ellie graduated from the University of Redlands in education and was a teacher at both Kingsbury and McKinley elementary schools in Redlands. She loved to sing and was a longtime member of the choir at The First Congregational Church. She also loved to play bridge and was an active member of many clubs in Redlands, including DAR and the Breakfast Club. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Mitchell Quinter and grandson Rudy Mitchell Quinter who reside in Ohio. Thanks to all her friends and family who made her life so joyful.
