Howard P. Floyd, 83, of Redlands passed away at home on January 10, 2012. He was a 1946 graduate of Redlands High School. He was an engineering contractor whose career and hobbies allowed him to travel the world. His job of enlarging the Sassamua Dam above Nairobi, Kenya enabled him to pursue his passion for big game hunting. He was able to re-visit Africa several times over the years. Other jobs took him to Alaska, Ecuador and locations throughout the United States. He enjoyed fishing and hunting expeditions with family and friends throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Betty Dawn and his son Brad Floyd. He is survived by his brother Tom Floyd of Upland and his children: Dawn Weaver, Kim Spangler, Melissa Moore (Stephen), Scott Floyd, Britt Floyd (Maggi) and daughter in law Kay Floyd all of Redlands and Brian Floyd (Doreen) of Yucaipa. Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, January 17th at 10:00 AM, Hillside Memorial Park. Reception to follow at the Howard Floyd residence. Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel in Redlands is handling arrangements.
