Forest Merle Riddell

Forest Merle Riddell, 83, a resident of Redlands, CA passed from this life at Redlands Community Hospital on February 5, 2012. He was born November 11, 1928 in Johnstown, PA to Clark A and Hazel J. Riddell. He was brother to Clark Riddell and Rose Marie Doyle. Forest was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 60 years, Frances Riddell. Father to four children, grandfather to nine and great-grandfather to nine children. He was a faithful servant of the Lord for more than 60 years, serving as a deacon and an elder for the Redlands and Yucaipa Church of Christ. He also was a man of honor, serving our country in the U.S. Navy Reserves and as a pilot for the U.S. Air Force. He served his country for 23 years and retired as a Lt. Col. at Norton Air Force Base in 1970. He continued to serve his community as a small business owner, a real estate broker, and an insurance broker with Primerica. He is survived by his wife, Frances M. Riddell; his brother Clark A. Riddell; his children: Carolyn Notterman, Stephen M. Riddell, Clark T. Riddell, and Tracy Glider-Gayler; nine grandchildren: Tammy Avilla, Scott and Malia Notterman, Kristen and Reuben Burwell, Tara and Stephen Craig, Kelly, Elizabeth and Nicole Riddell, Aaron Glider and Hayley Gayler; nine great grandchildren: Cheyanna and Alison Avilla, Colton, Sawyer and Gavin Notterman, Ester, Rose and Gabriel Burwell, and Carson Craig. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed. The viewing will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Yucaipa Church of Christ with the funeral immediately following at 2:00 PM. The burial will be held at Riverside National Cemetery at March Air Force Base on Monday February 13, 2012 at 10:15 AM where he will receive full honors from the military.
