Frances Kika Floriano Flores, a 36 year resident of Redlands left this world to be with the Lord on November 4, 2014, surrounded by her loving immediate family. Frances was the daughter of Simon Floriano and Nolverta Contreras, and was born and raised in East Highlands, CA. where she attended local schools and worked at various jobs prior to her marriage September 22, 1942. On March 6, 1944, her first son was born. In 1960 she relocated to Highland, CA And immediately found employment as a strawberry picker and later appointed as Field Supervisor, and performed the duties associated with her new position. She remained on the job for over 35 years. In 1965, the family relocated to Redlands, Ca. and continued working in the produce field, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. Due to her dedication and job performance, she was appointed field supervisor. In 1998, due to medical constraints she was forced to retire from her job. Still, a very active person she desired to become involved in her community. And began volunteer work at the Redlands Salvation Army. Due to her dedication and loyalty she was offered full time employment, which she accepted. In the course of her employment she was recognized for her outstanding dedication, loyalty and job performance, and was presented with the Salvation Army Employee of The Year Award , which came as a big surprise to her; she was humbled and accepted the award. Frances Kika , was a beautiful woman, who never turned anyone away and always offering a warm welcome smile to her sons and daughters friends and anyone else that came along. Cooking and gardening were her pass time and always maintained a beautiful floral garden. Seldom were days when her Grand Children were not in her home where they were treated with love and treated to healthy, savory meals. Soon, the Grand Children became the focus in her life. They loved her and cared about her the same way she felt about them. A dedicated Mother, her children were the most important thing in her life. As they grew up and began leaving home to start their families, she was sad and happy at the same time. However, many acquaintances and friends visited her on a regular basis; she was Grand Ma and Mom to many. The memories are many, she will forever be missed. Memorializing her departure, a chair on her porch where she sat every day, will remain in its place. Frances Kika is survived by sons, Peter, Ralph, John, Raymond, Arthur, Phillip; Daughters, Frances, Ruby, and Mary Lou; Predeceased are sons, Rudy Jr., Freddie, Louis and Frankie and daughter, Hope (who entered eternal rest October 27, 2014). A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, 4:00pm 8:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Ave., Redlands, CA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Bosco Mission, 28991 Merris Street, Highland, CA. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park, 1540 Alessandro Road, Redlands, CA.
