It is with great sadness that on July 6, 2012 after a short illness we said goodbye to our husband, father and friend, Garry Thomas Grotewold. Garry dedicated his life and his love to his family wife Jan, daughter Brandy, his mother Lee and step-daughters, Beth and Susan and the many kids of his heart; his extended family from California, Michigan and Arizona. Grotewold, 56 of Yucaipa CA spent his entire life in service to our country first as a member of the United States Air Force, then serving as a Maricopa County Sherriff and Good Year Officer. After completing U.S. Border Patrol training he became a Deputy US Marshal. He retired from the U.S. Marshal Service as a Supervisory Deputy after 28 years of service. Garry, along with daughter Brandy, pursued one of his personal favorite interests when they studied Kenpo Karate a martial art form. Garry proudly earned a 1st degree black belt in January 2007. He will be remembered as one hell of a poker player too. Thank You Garry for the special way you touched each and every one of our lives. You will be forever missed and forever in our hearts. A memorial service to honor Garry will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel 703 Brookside Ave Redlands CA 92373 at 11:00 am.
