Gary Hauso

Gary Hauso, age 66 a proud Yucaipa resident of 30 years, died March 3, 2009, after a seventeen-month battle with cancer. Born in Berkeley, California, his family moved to San Diego County, where he eventually met and married his high school sweetheart. Gary s work as an executive in the grocery business took him to Orange County in the early 1970's, and ultimately brought him to Yucaipa in 1979. He was able to continue living in the city he loved, while enjoying a second career in commercial real estate. He was an avid fisherman, an able woodworker, a tenacious reader, a lover of all things musical, and a patriotic American. His marriage to his wife, Karen, spanned 47 years and brought them six children: Chris (and Beth) Hauso of Redlands, Mike (and Kim) Hauso of Yucaipa, Monica (and Jorge) Aguilar of Redlands, Marla (and Steve) Dorsey of Fullerton, Trina (and Mark) Bolender of Yucaipa, and Jon Hauso of Costa Mesa. This 47 year bond also brought them 16 loving grandchildren. Gary had three sisters, Vicki Schoettle of Seattle, WA, Gay Huberts of Vista, CA, and Sharon Ahlquist of Carlsbad, CA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 1:30pm at St. Frances X Cabrini Catholic Church in Yucaipa. Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Private interment will be held in Hillside Memorial Park, Redlands, California. Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, Yucaipa is assisting the family.
