In Fond Memory of Gary Ramaley
Gary Ramaley, a dedicated patriot and cherished member of his community, passed away on April 22, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on September 7, 1942, in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Gary lived a life characterized by service, commitment, and a deep love for his country.
Gary's journey as a 30-year Army veteran was one of courage, honor, and resilience. Throughout his military career, he faced challenges with unwavering determination and forged lifelong bonds with his comrades. His dedication to duty and unwavering integrity left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of serving alongside him.
After retiring from the military, Gary continued to serve his community in various roles. As a custodian at two private schools, he brought his characteristic attention to detail and warmth to his work, making a positive impact on students and staff alike. Additionally, Gary volunteered his time with the Honor Guard and Riverside National Cemetery, ensuring that his fellow veterans received the respect and honor they deserved in their final resting place.
Gary's life was enriched by the love of his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Joelle, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He is preceded in death by his daughter Carolyn. He is survived by his children, son Gary and daughter Kerri, as well as stepdaughter Megan and stepson Rell, along with numerous grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
In the hearts of those who knew him, Gary will be remembered for his kindness, humility, and steadfast commitment to his principles. His legacy of service and dedication will continue to inspire others for generations to come.
A burial service will be held on Friday, May 10th, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Riverside National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 11th, 2024 at Bryant St. Baptist Church, with a potluck to follow. All are welcome.
Gary may have passed on from this world, but his spirit will live on in the memories of all who were touched by his kindness and generosity. Rest in peace, Gary, and thank you for your service.
