Gene Stevens, born August 14, 1926, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May the 25th. He was a proud WWII veteran and would tell amazing stories of his adventures, camaraderie and experiences to one and all. He was a natural and talented story-teller and had many friends. He is a longtime Redlands resident and a member of the Rotary Club and the Masonic Lodge. He owned Sunset Travel with his beloved wife, Dorothy whom he was married to for 61 years; together they saw much of the world. She preceded him in death in October 2008, as did his son Gregory. He is survived by his three children: Kathryn Stevens of Redlands and her daughter Melissa Zebrowski of San Francisco, Charles Stevens of Tucson, AZ and his daughter Carly Stevens-Brittain of Portland, OR, and his son Douglas Stevens and his daughter Carissa and son Coby of Sacramento. He also has three great-grandchildren. He had a loyalty and devotion to family and a zest for life that were an inspiration to many. He will be fondly remembered. Visitation will be held at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel on Friday May 30, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. Services will begin in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
