George Allan De Lange, Sr.

April 30, 1926 — November 5, 2009

George Allan De Lange Sr. Following a courageous fight with MDS, George went home to be with his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ on November 5, 2009. He was born April 30, 1926, the youngest of Norman and Grayce De Lange's three sons. George honorably served as a cadet in the Army Air Corps during WWII. After his military service, George married his childhood sweetheart Lois Dryer and began his college education. He accepted a hockey scholarship from the University of Denver, and graduated in 1951 with a B.S. in business. In 1954 George moved his growing family to California to further his education at U.C Berkeley, where he graduated with a Masters Degree in Hospital Administration. For several years George was an assistant at Riverside Community Hospital before becoming the administrator at Ballard General Hospital in Seattle. A few years later, he accepted the position of CEO at Redlands Community Hospital, where he served for nearly 22 years. Sports were always a passion for George, particularly baseball and golf. Along with a number of other investors, he helped bring minor league baseball to the Inland area with the San Bernardino Spirit, and was most recently involved with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. George is survived by the love of his life Loey, his three children; George Jr., Barbara, and David, his five grandchildren; Nicole, Gina, Katie, Daniel and Samuel, and two great-grandchildren Xander and Max. A memorial service to celebrate George's life will be held November 23, 2009 at 11am at Immanuel Baptist Church, 28355 Baseline, Highland, CA. Family under the care of Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, Redlands.
