George Carl Motschall

George Carl Motschall passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at

Redlands Community Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Joliet, Illinois on July 31, 1948. George was a life-long Lutheran, unwavering in his belief

that all things are possible through Christ and steadfast in his faith that all things unfold

according to God’s plan.

George worked for The US Forest Service for 38 years before he retired from South Ops in

2006 as the Assistant Fire Director, in charge of Fire Resource Operations in Southern

California.

George married the love of his life Pat on May 3, 1975. They spent 48 wonderful years together.

Their daughter was born in 1980 and their son was born in 1982.

George is preceded in death by his parents Carl & Bertha, brothers Bill & Butch, and son Greg.

He is survived by his wife Pat, daughter Kris, Son-in-Law Eric, sisters Carol, Biff, and Sue, and

grandchildren Russell, Courtney, and Preston.

A funeral service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Yucaipa on Friday, June 16th at 10:30

am. He will be interred at Hillside Memorial Park.
