Georgia “Yita” Manzano Saldaña, 91, of Redlands, CA, died peacefully in her home on April 12, 2018. Born April 24, 1926 in Redlands, she is preceded in death by her husband, Tiofilo “Phil” Saldaña. They married in 1948 and she is survived by her three children: sons Robert M. (Lucy) Saldaña, Philip I. Saldaña; and daughter Trini Saldaña (Robert) Platt. She has five grandchildren: Eric (Irene) Saldaña; Lynn Saldaña (Leon) Calderon; Jason (Cyndi) Saldaña; Sari Saldaña (Jarrod) Gibbon; and Denise Saldaña (Bryce) Camarillo. She has eight great-grandchildren: Jacob, Kylee, Jamie, Mateo, Leah, Dominic, Danielle, Nikki; and many nieces and nephews. Her sister Mary “Lou” Macias survives her and Georgia is preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters: John “Chon” Manzano; Anacleto “Nick” Manzano; Tomás Manzano; Geronimo “Mito” Manzano; Vicenta Roque; Cruz Gomez; and Tomasita Roque. Georgia worked in the orange packing industry for over 20 years. After retirement she enjoyed working in her yard and garden and loved taking care of her roses. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren, and would do anything for anyone in her family.
Services will be held on Tuesday, April 24th with a mass at 10:30 am at The Holy Name of Jesus Parish Church, 1205 Columbia St., Redlands, followed by burial at Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery, 1540 Alessandro Rd., Redlands, CA.
