Gerrit De Hoog of Redlands passed away peacefully at home with his sons by his side on Friday May 13,2011. He was born December 31, 1925 in Pipestone, MN. Gerrit lived in Redlands for 56 years where he was a General Contractor for 35 years. He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church and then Calvary Chapel of Redlands. Gerrit is survived by his sons, Gerald and Jack, Daughter Patsy (Schiff) and daughter-in-law Renie. He had 12 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by five brothers and six sisters and their families. Gerrit was preceeded in death by Pearl, his beloved wife of 58 years, in 2005 and his son, Mike, in 2006. He was also preceeded in death by two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be held Friday May 20th at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel from 4 PM to 8 PM. A Memorial Service will be at The River Church in Redlands, Saturday at 1:00 PM with a reception immediately following. Interment will be Monday, May 23 at 10:30 at Redlands Hillside Cemetery and is open to friends and family.
