Gertrude Margaret Hetherington Emerich, 92 July 30, 1920 - December 30, 2012 Born: Oakland, California to George and Katherine Hetherington Died: Temecula, California Resided in Redlands, California from 1948 until 2005 Temecula California from 2005 until 2012 Trudy came from a big family of seven children and was the second oldest. She was the family matriarch and played a big part in her siblings lives all of her life. Trudy was married to Hank Emerich in 1947. Together they were members of the Redlands Country Club and very active in the development of several projects throughout Redlands. She served in the Assistance League and was a long time member of the Contemporary Club. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority from 1947 until present. All 3 of her children were raised in Redlands and graduated from the University of Redlands. She remained a strong supporter of the U of R and Redlands Community Hospital for many years. Trudy loved her little Yorkie Diva who was a constant companion for several years. She enjoyed her garden, cooking. traveling and most of all her family. She was a wonderful role model for everyone who knew her and had a keen sense of humor. Trudy is survived by her 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Her son: David Emerich and his wife Karen along with their 4 sons, Jeff, Justin, Joshua and John. Each grandson has a loving family and there are 5 great grandchildren among them: Jaedon, Hailey, Hunter, Madeline, and Samuel. Her daughters include: Carol De Felice and her husband Joe and son Matt. Patty Donovan and her husband Michael and their children Kelly and Scott. Trudy is also survived by her sisters Barbara Fowler and Dotty Botts. Memorial services will be held at Emerson /Bartlett Mortuary in Redlands California at 11:00am, January 9, 2013. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Redlands, California.
