Gloria Jean McKeehan
1932 – 2022
Of Redlands, California, passed in peace at the age of 89 on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Born December 2, 1932, in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, to Clair LeJeune and Alice Jane Hall, one of three children. she had a sister – Norma and a brother Sony. Gloria grew up in Pennsylvania.
She began her High School years attending Okinawa University High School in Okinawa, Japan as her father-Clair was a Colonel in the United States Army stationed in Japan following the end of World War 2. Gloria graduated with the Honor of Distributive Award from Austin High School, El Paso, Texas – Class of 1950. Then Gloria began her career with General Motors Corporation in the GMAC Auto Finance Division office in El Paso, Texas. Gloria and Claude moved to Garden Grove California in 1968 working at GMAC until her retirement as a Manager in the Financial Group in the Long Beach office. She and Claude retired and moved to Banning, California for several years ultimately moving to Redlands, California in 1999 where she lived the rest of her wonderful life.
Gloria was an avid Quilter, she enjoyed making quilts, spending time with her many friends involved in the Mini-Quilt Lover’s Guild II making and showing her quilts at shows winning several ribbons. She spent many hours with other Guild members contributing to many community projects they made more than two hundred embroidered pillowcases for children undergoing chemotherapy at the City of Hope. Other beneficiaries of Glorias talents include Yucaipa's American Legion, fire and police departments, and quilts for infants for Santa Claus, Inc. Glorias made her most prized quilt for husband Richard for their 50th wedding anniversary.
Married March 19, 1955, in the Little Church of the West, Las Vegas Nevada to Claude Richard McKeehan her husband of 66 years. Gloria goes to be with Claude and her daughter Julie in Heaven, she is survived by her son Mark. Gloria was a loving grandmother of Rochelle Mckeehan, Stephen Hill, Matthew McKeehan, Alex Rhodes, Michael Rhodes, Nick Rhodes, and Nathaniel Rhodes. Great-grandmother of Makayla, Aiden, Lily Christian, Brenden, Rosalie. Further survived by nephews David Hall, Brian Work, and Gary Work, brother-in-law Joe McPhail and many friends.
Gloria will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, quilter, and friend.
A viewing will be held at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Avenue, Redlands, Ca. 92373 on Saturday, March 12, 2022, viewing from 10:00-10:30 a.m. A memorial service will follow at 11:00am - Hillside Memorial Park, 1540 Alessandro Road, Redlands, Ca. 92373 go to Block 10, Lot 22, Space C to honor and celebrate her life.
