Harry Oosterbroek

Harry Oosterbroek, of Yucaipa, California, passed away May 8, 2011, in his home with his family. Born in Redlands, California, January 27, 1949, to Garrett and Wilma Oosterbroek, Harry attended and graduated Class 1967 from Yucaipa High School. Harry went to fight for his country in two tours in Vietnam, work with the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department to retire from Glen Helen s maintenance department after over 30 years of service, and run an ornamental wrought iron business. As you pass through Yucaipa, and other surrounding areas, you can find the work of this expert craftsman. Harry also was a car hobbyist, particularly with pre-1970's vehicles, restoring his 1971 Chevy Malibu, 1937 Frazier, 1969 VW Bug, and working on his most recent project, a 1924 Model T. Harry had a passion for his work and his cars, but even more love for his family. Harry is survived by his wife, Carol Oosterbroek; three children, Sabrina, Jenny, and David; and his five beautiful grandchildren, Hailey, Jeramyah, Jakob, Leila, and Kherringtin; mother Wilma and sister Fenay; all of whom are residents of Yucaipa. The funeral service will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery at 11:30am, Thursday, May 19th, 2011. In lieu of flowers, donations for the service is welcome and can be made to the Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel of Yucaipa, 909-797-1101.
