Helen Marie Brithinee

Helen Marie Brithinee, 88, passed away on April 3, 2009 in Kaiser Riverside Medical Center . Helen was born on July 8, 1920 in Johnstown , Pennsylvania to parents Katherine (Giebfried) and George Wise. She graduated from Scienceville High School in Ohio , completing beauty school in Johnstown , Pennsylvania . She married Chet Crane in 1941. Helen had three sons Brian, Roger, and Tad. In 1943 the family moved to Fontana , California where Chet worked at Kaiser Steel Mill. Chet advanced to a senior melter, working as a foreman of the open hearth furnaces. Chet passed away in 1965 after suffering a crippling steel mill accident. Helen married Wallace Brithinee in 1985. He preceded her in death in 2003. Helen is also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Shelly and her great grandson, Dylan. While on this earth, Helen was a charter member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Fontana . There she taught Sunday school for many years touching many young lives. At death she was a faithful member of the Valley Evangelical Free Church in Hemet . Helen s favorite activities included ballroom dancing, playing cards and traveling. She had traveled to many countries. Helen could knock your socks off in a 31 card game. Helen is survived by her three loving sons, Brian, Roger and Tad; two daughters in law, Marli and Karen; 8 grandchildren, Brett, Beau and Brad; Shawn and Jenny; Rachel, Chad and Shannon; and 10 great grandchildren; a sister and brother in law, Jane (Wise) and Curt Cook and their children, Steve and Lisa. In lieu of flowers, Helen s wish was for any tribute gifts to be sent to the City of Hope . Memorial Services will be held in Valley Evangelical Free church at 341 N. Lake Street, Hemet, CA; Monday, April 13 at 1:00 pm. Ingold Funeral Chapel, Fontana, California is assisting the family.
