Helen Marie Patterson

Helen Marie Patterson was the first of two daughters along with four brothers. She grew up in Tennessee, Texas and California. Helen attended Junior College in Keene, Texas, and graduated May 18, 1947. She worked in various factories doing piecemeal jobs. She made brooms through her school years in Texas, curlers at the Curler Factory in Pasadena, California, and thermostats and electrical parts at Bournes in Corona, California.

She met her husband Wayne "Pat" Patterson at the skating rink in Eagle Rock, California, and they were married on November 21, 1948. Helen babysat to help put their three children through school. She finished her working career by working at Loma Linda Medical Center and various doctors offices as a secretary, and retired at the end of 1989.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne "Pat" Patterson, father - Will D. Cockrell, mother - Lucille Cockrell, brothers - Bill Cockrell, Paul Cockrell, Ray Cockrell, and sister - Mary Poulalion. Helen is survived by her children Judy Collins (Merl), Randy Patterson (Becky) and Brenda Patterson. Helen was grandmother to 6 and great-grandmother to 5.

Helen will be laid to rest on August 22, 2019 at Riverside National Cemetery. A private family ceremony will witness.
