Helen Pollett

Beloved mother, grandmother, auntie, and sister, Helen Pollett, passed away peacefully at home in Redlands on March 10, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born on January 27, 1919, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John and Hulda Smith. In her late teens, she joined the Navy where she met her husband, Chief Petty Officer Woodrow Woody Pollett. They eventually settled in Roy, Utah, where they raised their three children. Helen was a bookkeeper by trade but chose to spend a good portion of her career as a homemaker and mother. Helen and Woody moved to Victorville, California in 1986, and enjoyed almost ten wonderful golden years before Woody s death in 1995. In 2003, Helen moved to Redlands where she resided with her daughter, Peggy. Helen is preceded by her husband, Woody, her brothers, Melvin and Elmer Smith, and her sister, Sylvia McConaha. She leaves to follow her, her daughters, Peggy Reid of Redlands and Laura Davis of Cedarpines Park, her son Woody Pollett of San Diego, grandsons, Wayne Reid of Calimesa and Nick Reid of Santa Monica, grandson and granddaughter, Brandon and Whitney Pollett, her niece, Jackie McConaha of Mobile, Alabama, along with many other nieces and nephews and her beloved brother, Ole Smith, of Farmington, New Mexico. A memorial service will be held at Alliance Bible Church, 301 Cahon Street, Redlands, at 11:00 am on Monday, March 16, 2009.
