Howard “Bruce” McCauley
Mr. Howard “Bruce” McCauley, of Fontana, CA, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, April 25th, 2017 at the age of 78.
Bruce was born to parents Lawrence and Wilma McCauley on May 12th., 1938 in San Bernardino, CA. Bruce served his country in the United States Army and was Honorably discharged. For 40 years Bruce worked as a Field Engineer for John R. Byerly, Inc. in Bloomington CA.
Bruce married Joan R. Longwisch and they were together for 52 years. Joan had two sons, Wilbur and Keith, from a previous marriage. He loved the boys as his own. Later, Bruce and Joan had one son, Stan.
Bruce enjoyed the outdoors, target shooting and metal detecting. During his Military service, he earned his Marksman Badge, Sharpshooter Badge and Good Conduct Medal.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Joan McCauley; his sons, Wilbur Longwisch and Stan McCauley; his daughter-in-laws, Marcia Longwisch and Cindy McCauley; his sisters, Marjorie McCauley and Helene Theodorou (Husband Ted Theodorou); 13 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Doug McCauley; his sister LaNelle McCauley; and son Keith Michael Longwisch.
Bruce will be remembered for his hard work and the love he gave to his family. He always had a smile on his face and a big “Oh, hi” greeting for everyone.
Bruce will be missed and loved by all who knew him.
A service will be held on Friday May 19th, 2017 at 2:30 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, located at 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA.
