Inez Emmerson, age 98 of Redlands, California passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2009 at Plymouth Village Health Center in Redlands, California. She was born on October 3, 1910 in Kansas and was a longtime resident of Redlands. Inez graduated from La Sierra Academy. Glenn and Inez founded Emmerson-Bartlett Mortuary in 1935 and over the years, added 3 more locations, Loma Linda, Yucaipa and Calimesa. She was very active in the Pithian Sisters in early years, then in the Breakfast Club. She loved to play golf and enjoyed their membership at the Redlands Country Club. She enjoyed her bridge with the girls and several couples. The family remembers some really fun badmitton on our court in the parking lot of the Mortuary as a great way to spend the wonderful summer evenings. Glenn retired in 1980 and they moved to a Mobile Home on Mission Bay in San Diego. They really enjoyed their years on the water and were active in the park activities. Mom ran the Bay Club Monday morning bridge club until she had to leave her home on November 23, 1993, as the city wanted the land back. She had a standing tee off at the Mission Bay Golf Course at 9:30 am every Friday. Anyone who could come was welcome. Many times, many of the family joined her as well as several girl friends. She moved to Wesley Palms Assisted Living and loved her life there. Again, many new friends and lots of activities to enjoy. In September 2005 a stroke took away all the fun and joy of her life and yet she stayed her sweet gracious self. Inez is survived by her daughter, Vicki Bartlett and husband Dick, grandson, Rick Bartlett and wife, Kandy, great-granddaughter Kaitlan of La Mesa, California, granddaughter, Kim Farrington and husband, Phil and great-grandson, Aaron and great-great granddaughter, Eleah Farrington of Durango, Colorado.
