Ira " R.B." Pace Devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Born May 25,1929 in Tehuacana, Texas. He passed away May 6th 2011 at home in Calimesa surrounded by family and friends. Survived by wife of 61 years, Joyce, daughter Janice Wilcox and husband Karl, son Jeff Pace and wife Robbyn, grandchildren Jeremy Mathieson, Jamie and Michelle Mathieson of Washington, Heather Harris, Ashley Pace, and Eric Pace, He had 6 great grandchildren Jade, Jacob, Ashton, Joshua, Kiera, and Laila, his sisters Johnny Guest and Peraline Waren, and his brother John Pace. Ira moved to Yucaipa in 1937. He was in water management for 56 years, starting as a meter reader at South Mesa Water Co. and became Superintent. Upon leaving he became General Manager of Yucaipa Valley Water District, after leaving Yucaipa he became City Manager of Lake Elsinore during the floods of 1980. He left Lake Elsinore to become General Manager of West San Bernardino Co. Water District. He was a life time member of the American Water Works Association also the Inland Counties Water Association. Ira retired in 1994, he and his wife Joyce traveled extensively in their motor home for 15 years with family and friends. He will always be our Wagon Master. We love you and you will be missed dearly. Memorial services will be held on May 12th at 11:00 am at Yucaipa Christian Church. 12954 Bryant St. Yucaipa.
