Ira Parson Shelton

November 18, 1943 — April 19, 2024

Ira Parson Shelton, 80, of Redlands, California passed away peacefully April 19, 2024, in the company of his long time companion Yvette Broussard.


He was born in Richlands, Virginia to Joseph and Rosa Shelton. He was one of 10 children. After completing high school he enlisted in the Air Force and served over 12 years as a Staff Sargent. He was a proud Vietnam veteran.


He enjoyed traveling, country music, dad jokes, jigsaw puzzles, the Dallas Cowboys and old Western movies. He was Dad to Andrew of Missouri and Molly of Yucaipa, Grandpa to Holland of Missouri. He was father to Mark Shelton and grandfather to Barry Shelton of Vermont.


Ira is preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters and his brother. He is survived by his children, grandchild, sisters, nieces, nephews and his companion Yvette.

He will be missed by his family and friends at the Mentone Senior Center and the Rocky Point Fellowship Soup Kitchen.


Visitation will be held at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel in Redlands: 05/15/2024 From 9am- 12pm


Graveside services are at Riverside National Cemetery: 05/15/2024 at 1:00pm
