Jack "Jay" LeRoy Dooley Jr., 54 of East Highland, California passed away October 9, 2017 from a tragic accident at a work conference in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born on October 14, 1962, in Fort Wayne Indiana. Jack began his career at OmniTrans in 1985, working his way up from mechanic to Director of Maintenance, the position in which he proudly worked for the past decade. He was member of American Public Transit Association (APTA) and was committed to developing safer ways to maintain buses. Jack was involved in the Toastmasters International Rolling Thunder Chapter and was a frequent LifeStream blood donor. He also supported local educational agencies by participating in career fairs and providing job shadow opportunities. The family will continue his aspiration to help others by establishing a memorial scholarship to support young adults wanting to pursue a career in public transit.
Jack loved spending time with his family and friends, enjoyed deep-sea fishing, golfing, playing poker, camping of all kinds, BBQ and fine food. He was a loving father to his daughters, Rachelle Pattison and Valerie Dooley, and adored his two grandchildren, Morgan Pattison and Edward “EJ” Pattison III. He is also survived by his father, Jack L. Dooley Sr. and his sister, Jodie Beachtel. He was loved by many and will missed by all who knew him.
Please join us for A Celebration of Life at Edwards Mansion in Redlands from 2:00-7:00pm on Friday, October 20th. Graveside services will be held for close family and friends at Redlands Hillside Cemetery earlier in the day. Funeral services under the care of Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, Redlands, California.
