James M. Veign

VEIGN, James M., aged 61, passed away on September 19, 2022 in Redlands, CA surrounded by loved ones. Jim was a music lover who enjoyed playing guitar and singing. He graduated from Cal State San Bernardino and devoted his life to helping children who could not be with their families.

Jim spent several years as a care provider in a group home with Inland Empire Residential Center before moving to Children and Family Services with San Bernardino County. For 24+ years he was a dedicated social worker serving children and families. He was a passionate advocate for children in the foster care system.

Jim was predeceased by his father, James L. Veign. He is survived by his mother, Anna Veign-Welch; his siblings, Beth Glick, Barbara Veign, Patricia Veign, Al Veign, and Diane Veign-Irwin; his godson Phillip Rollins along with nieces, nephews, in-laws, and a surrogate grandchild.

Jim was a gentle soul with a wonderful sense of humor. The world will be less without him. No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. We invite friends and colleagues to celebrate Jim’s life as you think best. Gifts may be made in Jim’s memory to:
