James T Aslanis

With deepest sorrow, we announce the death of Colonel (Dr) James T Aslanis on June 15, 2021 in Redlands, California. Born and raised in Lehighton, PA, he attended Muhlenberg College and received a DDS from Temple University Dental School in 1958. Dr Aslanis proudly served in the United States Air Force for 29 years, retiring in 1993 as the most senior Colonel in the Dental Corps. His commendations included two Legion of Merit honors. Military assignments took him and his family to numerous locations all over the world, including: Newfoundland, Taiwan, Philippines, Italy, England, Crete, Germany and various stateside bases across the US from Alaska to Virginia and in between.

He was predeceased by his parents, Tony and Theodora Aslanis, originally from Smyrna, Turkey; and his sister, Cleopatra Loupos, Bethlehem, PA. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary Aslanis, Redlands, CA; son, James T Aslanis Jr and wife, Patricia, Los Altos, CA; daughter, Diane Aslanis, Roanoke, VA ; and son, John Morton-Aslanis and wife, Katherine, Cary, NC. He is also survived by Mary Leondis, sister, Boca Raton, Florida and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lustgarten Pancreatic Research.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Riverside National Cemetery and handled by Emmerson-Bartlett Funeral Home, Redlands, CA.
