JANA LYNN EVERHART (Redlands, CA) Passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, June 30, 2009. She courageously battled cancer for five years, before finally being reunited with her parents in heaven. Born August 18, 1968, in San Antonio, Texas, she was just over a month shy of her 41st birthday. She is survived by her brother, Doug Everhart and his wife, Wendy, as well as her two nephews, David and Robby, all of Redlands. Jana graduated from Redlands High School in 1987, where she was an active member of the music program. She played trumpet in the marching and jazz bands, as well as the wind ensemble. She also marched a season with the Riverside City College Marching Tigers and their 1986 World Expo Tour to Canada. She graduated from the University of Redlands in 1992 with a B.A. in Communicative Disorders, and started a career as a speech pathologist with the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. In 2002, she completed her M.S. in Communicative Disorders at Cal State University, Northridge. She was with SBCSS for her entire career, and was loved by all of her students and colleagues. With a huge heart and an infectious smile packed into a tiny frame, her passion and positive spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her or came in contact with her. Viewing will be on Tuesday, July 7th from 5-8 P.M. at Emmerson-Bartlett Mortuary in Redlands, including an infor mal service beginning at 7 P.M. A full Catholic Mass will be held Wednesday, July 8th at 10 A.M. at Holy Name of Jesus Christ (Olive Avenue) in Redlands. A private (family only) Burial Service will follow the Mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in Loma Linda. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jana's name can be made to the following preferred charities: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, American Cancer Society, KSGN radio.
