Janet Carson, 82, of Yucaipa, California, passed away from pancreatic cancer on October 25, 2024 at home surrounded by her loved ones. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and lifelong educator, Janet’s passion for teaching and her dedication to her family made an indelible mark on the lives of everyone who knew her.
From the time she was just five years old, Janet knew she wanted to be a teacher. Her dream became a reality as she spent over 40 years in the classroom, inspiring and shaping the minds of countless students. Her career began in a third grade classroom and expanded over the years to include middle school, special education, and gifted and talented students. Janet’s ability to connect with children of all backgrounds was unmatched, and she believed that every child had the potential to succeed. She was known for her patience, determination, and unwavering belief in her students' abilities.
Janet’s impact extended far beyond her professional life. She was a loving wife to her husband, Roger, with whom she shared a life of love, camping, and happiness for 63 years. Together, they raised their son, Ben, who was a constant source of pride and joy to Janet. Later in life, she became a cherished grandmother to her grandson, Bodie, with whom she shared a special bond and many treasured moments.
Janet had a deep love for family, and her warmth and kindness were felt by all who were fortunate to know her. Whether spending time with family, supporting friends, or volunteering in her grandson's classrooms, Janet’s legacy is one of love, education, and dedication to others.
She is survived by her loving husband Roger, her son Ben & daughter-in-law Caitlin, her grandson Bodie, and many dear family members and friends.
A graveside service for Janet's will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 10:45 am.
Janet’s spirit lives on in the lives she touched, and her legacy of kindness, love, and learning will continue to inspire for generations to come.
